How long does it take to close on a mortgage?

The short answer

Every loan is different, and timing depends on the program, the property, and how quickly documents come together. Most of my loans close in about 20 days from application. Working with a solo broker helps: your file doesn't wait in a queue, and questions get answered quickly.

What can slow things down

  • Missing or incomplete documents
  • Appraisal or inspection issues
  • Title questions on the property
  • Changes to your income, credit, or debts during the process

How to keep things moving

  • Send requested documents as soon as you can
  • Avoid new credit or large purchases
  • Respond quickly to questions
  • Keep your agent and your broker in the loop

You'll always know where things stand

I share updates along the way, so you and your agent aren't left guessing.

The bottom line

A smooth close comes from preparation and communication. That's how I run every file.
